I am by no means a pro at makeup – please keep reading though. Ha! I like to say I can get by and I know more-or-less the basics of makeup. But at the end of the day my makeup looks light, fresh and cute if you ask me! So I’ve outlined my favorite basic makeup products, right now, that I love using.

My Favorite Basic Makeup Products
FOUNDATION/CONCEALER
- BareMinerals Complexion Rescue hydrating foundation stick
- This stick can be used as a concealer or foundation
- It’s really lightweight but can be layered
- It’s good coverage
- I use vanilla 02
BLUSH
- Elizabeth Mott Blush
- This is my favorite blush
- It’s a great color with a nice shine that I get compliments on, so that’s a good sign
- It’s got a nice shimmer so if you’re not into highlighters it’s a good combo
- I have Show Me Your Cheeks blush in the peach pink color
- Ursie’s Apothecary Blush
- I discovered Ursie in Riverside at a street fair, but now she sells online and has a store
- It’s a cleaner beauty blush that’s more pink/peach
- It’s little lighter, but you can layer up
- I use the berry blush color
- Becca X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette
- The blush is a little darker so you don’t need much
- It includes a bronzer, blush and highlighter as well
- Makes a great eye shadow palette too
BRONZER & HIGHLIGHTER
- Becca X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette
- Same palette as above
- I use the bronzer in this palette, it’s solid, nothing exciting
- The highlighter is my favorite part about this palette, it shines so well and really makes me glow
EYES
- Maybelline great lash mascara
- Drugstore for the win
- It’s a great, basic, cheap mascara
- If I’m being honest, it does end up flaking a little more at the end of the day but I’m typically in bed by then
- I use typically use the blackest black color
- Chella eyebrow pencil
- It’s got a great thin brush so I can really comb out my eyebrow hairs
- The pencil itself is really thin so you can draw on the hairs and it looks more realistic
- Matches my eyebrow color nicely
- Stays on all day
- I use the tantalizing taupe color
- Maybelline great lash clear gel mascara
- Basic, cheap, and it works
- Keeps those eyebrows in place
- Urban decay eyeshadow
- A classic with neutral/browns that goes from day and night
- I had the original palette but the Naked 2 is good as well
- MaryKay Shadow & Liner Pencil
- To be honest, I’m not sure they’re selling this officially any more
- I love the idea of a slight golden shimmer color that I can draw on like a pencil but it’s an eyeshadow – now that’s easy
- I have the Caramellow color
- Becca X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette
- Same palette from before, just putting it on my eyes
LIPSTICK
- Honest Beauty lip crayon
- It’s a cleaner beauty product
- It’s a basic shiny lipstick that looks good over other lipsticks
- It doesn’t stay on super great by itself
- I have Sheer Blossom
- Wet n’ Wild lipstick
- Drugstore beauty for the win
- It looks like a crazy bright color but it looks so great on
- Stays on really well
- I have it in ‘smokin hot pink
- Urbans Decay
- This is a great lipstick brand so it’s a general recommendation, it goes on smooth and has a nice shine
- My color has been discontinued, but I had a sheer color that looked good over lipstick
- Laura Mercier lipstick
- This is pricey lipstick but it feels like butter
- Stays on for a long time
- My color has been discontinued but it was a deeper pink
- MILK lip color
- It’s marketed as a more natural product
- It’s creamy and matte
- Plus it’s in a lip crayon form and I like that
- Mine in is cream
- Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm
- This is typically a more natural product
- Goes great over other lipstick to bring a shine and a little bit more pink
- I have it in pink blossom
