Why do we need toddler approved recipes? It’s ridiculous! They should just eat what we give them. Listen folks, I cook and my child eats what I make – for the most part. But there are occasions, when she doesn’t cooperate. Pesky processed foods are everywhere, and something every first-time parent tries to avoid. So I do my best to always have some kind of on-the-go breakfast and snack food at all times.
My strong suit would be muffins, big surprise there since I like baking. Muffins are awesome because they’re versatile, easy to make and can be frozen. I love anything that I can freeze and have available for later. That way when I feel like I’ve done no good, at least I can throw a muffin at Colette and feel like I’m winning. Plus busy breakfasts where we have to wake up and go are less stressful now since I just open the freeze, microwave quickly and take off!
Did I forget to mention they’re usually healthy? Sneaking in fruit and vegetables into the toddler approved recipes is a must. Even if Colette eats pretty well for a toddler, sweet potatoes and carrots aren’t at the top of her list. So I’m happy to be able to incorporate them anyway I can.
