Let’s pretend it’s cold outside and snowing! Like the winter everyone else has. That means decorating with snowflakes, snowmen and penguins. Lighting the fireplace – that shouldn’t even exist in Southern California homes. And breathing in the fresh smell of pine, even if you don’t celebrate Christmas because fresh pine smells amazing and it’s everywhere this time of year.
We could also eat our way through the season by baking. Butter laced baked goods like crumb cakes and cookies with a cold glass of eggnog topped with nutmeg. Even though, for the most part in SoCal, there is no reason to warm up the house with with spiced pecans baking in the oven, I’ll do it anyways. Because it’s winter.
